Expert Optometrist Dr. Jill Kunzman

Dr. Jill Kunzman is an Optometrist serving Sibley, IA and surrounding communities. She started her education at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, MN as a Biology Major. She then continued her education at Michigan College of Optometry. She received her bachelors of Vision Science and graduated with honors as a doctor of Optometry in 2002. She then began practicing with Doctor Allen S. Jones in his optometric practices. In 2009 she started her own business, Northwest Iowa Vision Therapy in Hartley IA. In 2011 she bought the practice located in Sibley IA.

Dr. Kunzman specializes in Vision Therapy. Vision therapy is an umbrella term for a variety of treatments based around eyes exercises. The treatments aim to treat a range of neurological, educational and spatial difficulties.

She enjoys caring for the patients at Sibley Eyecare and looks forward to the one-on-one interaction involved with solving eye health and vision problems. Dr. Kunzman and her entire staff at Sibley Eyecare are 100 percent committed to providing first class eye care services.

Not only is Dr. Jill a busy doctor and business owner she is also a wife and mother. She is married to Chad Kunzman and they have 2 children, Abigail and Grant.

Expert Optometrist Dr. Zachary Ney

Dr. Zachary Ney is a dedicated and accomplished optometrist, originally from Primghar in Northwest Iowa. A proud graduate of the Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn Community School District in 2016, Dr. Ney pursued his undergraduate studies at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, where he graduated in 2020 with double Bachelor of Science degrees in Biochemistry and Neuroscience. During his time at Loras College, he was actively involved in various extracurricular activities, serving as a tutoring and teaching assistant, a planetarium presenter, a resident advisor, and a member of the student government.

Dr. Ney went on to attend the University of Houston College of Optometry, where he graduated as valedictorian with the highest honors (Summa Cum Laude) in May 2024. His clinical experiences are diverse and include rotations at Walter Reed Military Medical Center in Washington, D.C., and Indian Health Services at Cherokee Nation in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. While in optometry school, he continued to contribute to the academic community as a tutoring and teaching assistant, a member of the academic council, a participant in the private practice club, and an admissions interviewer and tour guide.

Throughout his academic and professional journey, Dr. Ney has been recognized with numerous awards and honors, including the VSP Award for Outstanding Clinical Care, the Ocular Instruments Award for Excellence (twice), and the Judy Perrigin Award for Contact Lens Expertise. He also demonstrated his knowledge and skill by winning the Essilor Luxottica National Student Bowl and securing second place in the Essilor Luxottica National Academic Challenge.

In his free time, Dr. Ney enjoys spending time with family and friends, engaging in outdoor activities such as golf, water sports, boating, biking, running, volleyball, and pickleball, as well as spending time at the lakes, playing board games, traveling, and meeting new people.

Dr. Ney is thrilled to return to his roots and begin his professional career at Sibley Eye Care, starting in late July, 2024. He is eager to give back to the community that has supported him throughout his journey. Patients can schedule appointments with Dr. Ney in Sibley on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and in Hartley on Wednesdays.
